Our trip to the Coopers' was a much needed time of respite for us. Their house is in the Middle of Nowhere, VA. And it's beautiful! See the two trees to the left? Their home is called "Twin Sycamore Farm" and it was so charming! We had a lot of fun touring their stomping grounds, from the "Old Mill" restaurant in downtown Fort Royal (Aly ordered a turkey & swiss sandwich and it came without the swiss; when asked for it, our waitress said, "Oh! I'll bring you a slice of cheese in a moment." It was funny.) From there we went to the famed Shenandoah Video & Tan in Strasburg (I think that's the name), so we could rent a flick (Akeelah & the Bee - thanks Melissa for a great recommendation!). This place really had tanning booths on one side & video shelves on the other. It was AWESOME. On Sunday, we attended their church in Manassas and had lunch at Fosters Grille (home of the charburger). We also made an obligatory stop at Bad Ass Coffee, simply because of its name. We had fun brainstorming other words to precede "ass", and found the list surprisingly long. It was like a category on Family Feud. I don't know if the coffee was as good as it claimed to be (with a name like that, it had better bring it, you know what I'm saying?), but they did toss some fightin' words at Starbucks by way of that bumper sticker on their cash register. Thanks, Will, Aly, & Zoe, for hosting us graciously and letting us retreat from our stress at home.
