I have a rare moment of internet access to share this image with all of you. Earlier this year, many of you voted for this picture to be the Reiss family Christmas card, and this is how Dave designed it. We planned to order them in the form of change-of-address postcards (presumably with the Kansas address), but as you well know, that did not work out. We also decided we just couldn't afford them. I used old cards I'd been collecting over the years instead. So here you go, our Christmas card for all to enjoy!
We do not yet have a clear vision for our future. I read Luke ch. 5 yesterday and was struck by the fact that we have nothing we're holding on to that we'd have to give up to follow Jesus. You know, like the fishermen and tax collectors did. We no longer have a home or a job or anything in the way of security, really. So all we need is for Jesus to say, "Go here. Do this." Pray that we hear his voice.
That said, we are trying to figure this out in our own human ways too. Dave's applying for tons of jobs hoping one will bite. We may have temporary housing through a friend at the new year, and hopefully that will work out. We thank Jonathan & Chrissy, who are letting us use their home while they're out of town for the holidays. It's such a blessing. And we thank Cindy & Robert for letting us fill their mailbox with our mail. Please email me if you would like their address to send us something.
Most of all, thanks to all of you, dear friends, who have given us so much insight and encouragement via my last post. It is a blessing to know we are not going this alone.
With love,
Dawn (and Dave, Lucy, & Baby No. 2!)
