Eli's 2-Month Picture (He's "chill")

Where is the time going? Here's our boy, already 2 months old. With Lucy, this time was going by much more slowly. I am trying to hold on to every precious moment with him as well as my daily sanity. Some days are easier than others. :) It's funny; I've met quite a few folks lately who've had kids closely together like we have, and they all seem to say the same thing: "First year's a blur, and it's wonderful to have them so close together." I'm glad to know that this mushy-brain-sensation is common in families with children close in age.

Lucy is doing the cutest thing ever (this week, at least). She is becoming obsessed with putting her dolls and babies in the swing, carseat, or booster chair. She does this immediately after she or Eli has vacated one of the aforementioned places. Two seconds after Eli is removed from the carseat, for example, Lucy is there with doll in hand, ready to put it into the seat. Then, for another 5 minutes at least, she is occupied with trying to figure out how to snap it in the straps. This is her latest attempt with the carseat. Last night, she spent OVER ONE HOUR putting her Cookie Monster, the doll above, and her baby doll in her booster seat. She'd get one in, do the snaps, and then shriek at us to undo them. (Sidenote: Let's just hope she doesn't figure out how to undo them anytime soon!) That shrieking got old fast, so we started emphasizing the word "please" repeatedly. I guess the repetition worked (even though she has a HUGE vocabulary, she hardly ever says please). She finally said it last night, and then began saying it over and over. It's like music to our ears. So I got video of this routine. On a rotational basis, the three dolls would be placed in the booster seat, snapped in, we'd hear, "please?" and unsnap them, the doll would be tossed aside, and then the next one would have its turn. For over an hour. It was quite a peaceful evening for us! I wonder how long this game will be interesting to her...

so here's what i've been doing...
