Well folks, it's that time of year again: Dave's birthday! The festivities have been ongoing all week. Sunday, we cut into this
gorgeous homemade cake (Martha Stewart would be proud.) Actually, it tastes a ton better than it appears. My mom made the cake part (which is good) and I made the frosting and added the sprinkles. It didn't look so great but it tastes delish. For some reason, Dave wanted me to make frosting out of a
Jiffy mix than using a can of the regular kind.
To celebrate, we met with a bunch of new friends at the local Chuck E. Cheese. It was Lucy & Eli's first time there. They both were certainly intrigued by it all! Towards the end, Eli gave in and crashed from all of the stimuli. We adults played numerous rounds of (what else?) Skee-Ball, and I did better when I was holding Eli, no kidding! Here's Luce in a little car with Mr. Cheese himself. (Sidenote: Who picks the CEC dance music? You know those animatron type characters that dance? They kept moving to 'Turn the Beat Around' and 'Stuck With You' (Huey Lewis, circa 1985). It was interesting.)
