Dave is out of town on his annual youth mission trip in Pennsylvania with Youthworks. Seeing as how I didn't really want to spend 8 days with Lucy home alone, we went to visit my folks in Liberty, Missouri (just outside of Kansas City). It was a great time of rest and fun for me, and Lucy got to enjoy the endless attention of two adoring grandparents. (Frankly, I think she's kinda bored with "just" me now!) :) I like this 3-generations picture.
We had this cool little baby seat on loan, which made me laugh every time I looked at her in it. I kept thinking "Elroy Jetson" scooting around space and coming into port here for some fuel or something. Lucy didn't find it as cool as I did so we ended up not using it for any practical purpose.

An updated photo of Lucy and me - traveling Reiss girls who miss their daddy/husband dearly!Highlights of the trip included going to the monthly Liberty old car show in downtown (despite the heat it was a blast), where my dad showed off his newest "old" car. We made little shopping trips here and there and enjoyed some meals out. We relaxed with a movie every night in my parents' cool basement/tv room. Strangely enough, I tended to choose romantic comedies set in Chicago (While You Were Sleeping & Return to Me). Useless fact: My dad has upwords of 12 movies that are set in Chicago, in part or in whole. I know this because we almost bet on it. We also got to hang out with Melissa and Adam a little bit, which is always a good thing. Thanks for a great time, Mommy & Daddy!!
