Hey friends!
Well it's public now: Dave is leaving his current youth pastor job at our church here in Richmond. It's the end result of a vast conglomerate of reasons (does that make sense?) and I'd be glad to go into it deeper with you if you ask. Bottom line, it's a GREAT thing. This is something our hearts have been wanting to do since before we even realized it. We have the support of the pastor and our church. We are really excited about where God will lead us next and it is a total step of faith for us.
So this is to request your prayers. Dave is currently in the beginning stages of job hunting: sending resumes, doing the application bit, and he'll probably start getting calls for interviews soon. He plans to stay in youth ministry, of course. We are hoping to move somewhere in the middle-north of the US - a la Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Ohio, Illinois, you get the idea...
We have financial backing from our current church till the beginning of November so that kinda gives you an idea of our time frame. Of course, this means doing the house-selling thing and changing everything from our pediatrician to our grocery store. I love change and I love that we get to move!
If you wanna know more, just ask. In the meantime, PRAY please!! What we are embarking on is not easy!
