Our Weekend in Illinois

(Lucy, Dave, and me all ready for church on Sunday; Dave spiffed up for his interview with the committee; the beautiful church facility; Dave and Lucy in the youth room before he gave his talk)

We had a wonderful time this past weekend at Dave's first out-of-town, face-to-face interview in German Valley, Illinois. Our travel was safe and smooth, with few glitches, and our time there was very comfortable, and surprisingly relaxing. The people of Silver Creek Reformed Church did everything possible to make our stay restful yet productive. And they adored Lucy (who doesn't?). We had numerous tours of the small towns in the area where the church people live (not all reside in German Valley), and each one was divided by about 10 miles of Illinois farmland. Geographically quite different from city life! Dave was awesome in all of his interviews/meetings, and everyone was really kind. We are weighing the pros and cons of this position, and are excited about the upcoming Kansas weekend as well, as we wait on God for His guidance and leading. The weekend there will be similar in setup, only this time, we can bookend our trip with visits to my folks'! We even get to celebrate Thanksgiving with them, which is a great treat. Thank you for praying for us, and please continue to do so. Check back at Dave's blog for updates and his take on things.

so here's what i've been doing...
