Our house painting project is now complete! It took two full days and much manpower to get the job done. We thank those who came out and helped us tirelessly:
Lyle, Steve, Dave, Cindy & Robert, Ben, Chris, Pete & Carole, Uncle Carl, and Maxwell. We could NOT have done it without them. I forgot to take a "before" picture, but I'll have an "after" picture posted on here soon. Lucy was a doll and napped for large portions of the day, allowing me to get my hands dirty (and my clothes, and my legs, and my face, etc.) and do some painting for awhile. At the end of day one, Uncle Carl chainsawed our two front evergreen trees (little, surprisingly ugly ones) that bookended the front of our house. We always debated on cutting them down, finally deciding to do it, thinking it'd make our house seem larger, airier. And it was a good call. It looks really bright out front now.
Now we have to turn our focus onto the rest of the landscaping. The yard needs to be weeded, mulched, raked, beautified, etc. When that's done, our "curb appeal" should be pretty sa-weet!
Then our focus will turn inward. I have already begun weeding out unnecessary items and packing them for storage. Each room is being cleaned out so that it looks bigger and more spacious. Our office looks good. Once we get our treadmill & an extra couch outta here, the other rooms will look great too. Our dining room is currently filled with things that we hope to sell this Saturday at our yard sale. Yes, a yard sale! 3 days before the house goes on sale!
In addition to this, Dave is working his last normal-hour week at CCC, on top of continuing his ongoing job search. He has 3 phone interviews already lined up for this week, and more applications to fill out. . . I'm tired just thinking about it.
Thank you for praying for us. I have daily stress-outs (note the plural) and Dave is doing his gosh-darn best to juggle all of this. What gets me stressed is knowing how long the to-do list is and not being able to do much on it, as I am with Lucy most of each day. So I'm the one telling Dave what's next on the list, and basically watching him do it. (Side note: we have had people over for several afternoons to watch Lucy while I do inside-the-house chores - it's really helped!) Please continue to pray for us. We need wisdom and encouragement as we proceed.
Muchas gracias, amigos!!
