We had a fun time on Friday night going out with our great friends Nate & Laurie. It was a Dave Reiss birthday celebrashe! We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner, played some pool, and then drove around for awhile trying to decide what to do for dessert, ultimately ending up at the last place anyone could have predicted: Friendly's. Hey, they have ice cream! It was a humorous experience, to say the least, since we were out without Lucy and could have gone anywhere (thanks Cindy!), yet we chose to celebrate at the most family-friendly place in town. In fact, Nate saw one of his students (a 6th grader) there, and at around 9:30, a big party of raucous, dressed up older women came in and sat down right behind Nate & Laurie (see pic). I can hear the tv advertisement now: "You, me, 15 old ladies, and Friendly's." We brought that house down, y'all. Later that night the boys played video games while I showed Laurie my high school yearbook pictures. And as a sidenote, Nate got Dave a special keychain. It was as if we were at Dave's 10th birthday party, not his 31st. :)
Then on Saturday, we went to the Harvest Festival. Fun times! We dressed up the Luce-O-Lantern for the occasion and she looked adorable. You can see Dave trying to look like some kind of pumpkin-head-man. It was great weather and a fun afternoon.
Tomorrow is Dave's birthday for real, and while it's been celebrated numerous times already, please head on over to his blog and drop him a comment wishing him a great day!
